The inspiration for our cards began many years ago as florists in the South of England. So many times customers would want to purchase flowers for occasions that did not warrant a bouquet; just to say Happy Birthday, Thank You or Congratulations. We sold a large selection of greetings cards in our store and it became obvious that you could combine the two separate products to create an unusual and charming gift.

Livingcards are really a very simple idea - but they manage to capture the natural beauty of a fresh flower with the convenience of a greetings card. The box that protects your card in transit has been designed by and only used by our company to ensure that your order arrives in perfect condition. The box has been designed to a size that will fit through a standard post box - we wanted our customers to go to their front doors in the morning to collect their post and there was our product amongst the bills and junk mail! A beautiful fresh flower to cheer anyone's day up.

Our cards have developed a great deal since their humble beginning when we only offered roses on a plain card, though they do look extremely elegant and classic left unadorned. However, we wanted our customers to have more choice - we first added borders to our cards to enhance the chosen flower and occasion, now on this new website we have added the option to add a greeting to the front of the card - which we have already discovered to be extremely popular.

We have now added Gerberas to our range. We be looking into the possibility in the future of increasing the range further. We have to ensure that when considering any flower that they must be suitable for our cards and that they are of a long lasting variety.

In October 2011 we will be adding a new range of cards made from 100% recycled card and paper from the UK's only Paper Merchant specialising in recycled papers, Paperback. Their aim is to help the recycling loop by promoting greater use of recycled card and paper - we are happy to be part of this worthwhile commitment.

A further range of cards made from cotton embossed with your greeting is also in production.
